Dr Rob Young. Research associate.

Rob joined the group in January 2012, where his research focuses on the evolution and regulation of gene expression. In particular, Rob is interested in the roles for noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) and insertion/deletion events at enhancer and other regulatory elements within the human genome.

Prior to joining the group, Rob completed a DPhil in Chris Ponting’s group at the MRC Functional Genomics Unit investigating long intergenic noncoding RNAs (lincRNAs) in Drosophila and an MSc in Quantitative Genetics and Genome Analysis at Edinburgh University. He holds a BA (1st class) in Natural Sciences (Biological) from Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge.
